ELENA JACINTO was recently featured in Long Island Press under BEST MASSAGE THERAPIST for three consecutive years, 2005, 2006 & 2007. Now owner and therapist, Elena originally trained in massage at The New Center. A member of AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association), Elena has a 21 year background as a New York State licenced massage therapist, with 11 years experience as a physical therapist's aide. Elena has a Bachelors Degree in Health Education from Long Island University (C.W.Post), a Masters in Health Education from Adelphi University, and a Masters in Human Sexuality Education from Widener University in Philadelphia.
Elena is proud to hold the national CHES certification. The CHES designation after a health educator's name is one indication of professional competency and commitment to continued professional development.
With over 20 years in the field of health and wellness, Elena's recent training with EU Teach in Lausanne, Switzerland gave Elena the necessary skills to work and educate young people with all adolescent health issues. Her studies in health and human sexuality has given her the opportunity to work closely with other professionals in these fields and gain a greater understanding for all aspects of human health. It is with great pride that Elena is also affiliated with organizations such as AASECT (American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists), AAHPERD (American Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance), SSSS (Society of Scientific Study of Sexuality).
Elena's background in complimentary therapies includes certification in Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapy through Albert University, having received her primary hypnosis training from the world-renowned Dr. Barry Seedman of the Hypnosis Institute in New York City. She is also Board Certified in Medical Hypnosis, has had Mind/Body training through the Mind/Body Institute of Harvard Medical School, is a Karuna Reiki Master, and NLP Master Practitioner and trainer through the National Federation of Neuro-Linguistic Psychology, studying under its President and Founder, Dr. William D. Horton.
Other professional affiliations enjoyed by Elena include INFAITH (International Network for Alternative and Intuitive Therapies), NHG(National Guild of Hypnotists), and NFNLP (National Federation of Neuro-Linguistic Psychology).
